Moving: Since 29th of September, I have moved into my own four walls. Finally!
Living some 30km south of Munich, surrounded by nature, hills, farmhouses and with the Lake Starnberg only 10 minutes away, I have found my sweet refuge from Munich's busy every-day life.
Work: ... is much the same but changes every day. That means, I still have a lot of fun, albeit being a designer means working overtime is not the exception to the rule but the rule itself. Expect to see my designs on Aigner products next year in fall! I designed some shawls, belt buckles and a print for a bag, but it still remains to been how much of all that will stay in the collection in the end.
Shopping in Munich: Yesterday, my collegues from design and another collegue from product management went shopping at Munich Downtown (roaming Prada, Vuitton, Gucci, Burberry and so on!) and apart from all your Haute-Couture brands, I now know some pretty awesome little shops with really special stuff. It was very exhausting but also really nice to go out with people on the weekend.
History: Munich and her surroundings begin to grow fonder to me every day I live here, and every day I feel more reluctant to leave here anytime soon. I still haven't checked out the Pagan meeting or the mediaeval restaurant.
I feel a bit sad sometimes that this area of Germany has little castles and churches that date back to the early 1100-1300 centuries. The Wittelsbacher royal family has restored most of any ancient building and outfitted it in typical Baroque style. I'm not a fan of the epoche of Baroque at all and they left almost nothing as it was built 1000 years ago.
Alto Adige: Nevertheless, living here also means I'm two hours closer to the most wonderful place on earth (apart from Disney World Florida): Alto Adige.
My family owns a house there and I recently got all the keys, so if I would want to, I could hop into my car, drive for three hours and end up in Paradise. Albeit I have visited this area in Alto Adige for most of my life since I was born, I marvel at its absolte perfection every time I go there. The mountains, the lake, the nature - and above all, the castle ruins! Tears come to my eyes when I see those buildings. Do you know those places where you think Time just stopped somewhere? This is one of those places. No matter when you return, everything welcomes you just the way you left it. It's Time out of Time.
But alas, enough with the sentimantal babbling! Next time I drive home to my parents' place, I'll bring a photo with me and you won't have to go through all this exhausting reading any more
